Six cities, including Yangju City, Uijeongbu City, Namyangju City, Guri City, Pocheon City, and Dongducheon City, announced a joint proposal today (10th) calling for government support for the construction of general business facilities at the Gyeonggi Textile Support Center Convention Hall.

In a joint proposal, the six cities proposed to central ministries, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Gyeonggi Province to open a smart IC under the Gwangbaek Reservoir on the Seoul-Yangju Expressway, expand state subsidies, and simplify administrative procedures, and ask lawmakers and city councils of each city for full support.

Six cities are pushing for the construction of a joint general business facility in Bangseong-ri, Baekseok-eup, Yangju-si, with KRW 29.2 billion, including KRW 24.5 billion for national and provincial governments.

The general funeral facilities include 6 funeral halls, 12 crematoriums, 20,000 enshrinement halls, 20,000 natural gardens such as arboreal forests, outdoor performance halls, pet playgrounds, forest baths, infant forest experience centers, and parking lots.

Yangju City will be in charge of the construction of the funeral hall, and six cities will share the remaining project costs except for the state and provincial governments.

The project is currently being investigated by the Korea Institute of Local Administration for its feasibility, and the construction will begin in 2026 and aim to be completed in 2029.
