President Hwang made the remarks today (10th) in response to Chairman Choi Min-hee's question to explain the relevant position at the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communications Committee's parliamentary audit of KHNP and others.
He also explained that the progress of negotiations with Westinghouse regarding the export of Czech nuclear power plants will determine whether to pay royalties or distribute areas of work.
Earlier in 1997, KHNP signed a license agreement that stipulates the use of nuclear power plant technology from "CE," an American nuclear power plant technology company, and export nuclear power plants based on it.
Three years later, Westinghouse and CE merged, but KHNP insists the previous license agreement is still valid.
