President Yoon Suk Yeol returned with various achievements, including strengthening cooperation with ASEAN countries, after completing his tour of three Southeast Asian countries.

However, there are a number of pending issues in Korea that need to be resolved, including various suspicions surrounding Kim Gun-hee, so President Yoon will soon meet with Han Dong-hoon, the representative of People's Power, to seek a breakthrough.

Reporter Kang Hee-kyung reports.

President Yoon Suk Yeol has returned home after completing his five-night, six-day tour of Southeast Asia, which led to the Philippines, Singapore and Laos.

During his state visit to the Philippines and Singapore, he greatly expanded the horizon of cooperation, and after the ASEAN Summit held in Laos, he formed a "comprehensive strategic partnership" with ASEAN, a top-level partnership.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President (last 10 days): Based on the highest level of partnership, South Korea and ASEAN will build a new future history together.]

He also introduced the August 15 Unification Doctrine on the world stage and asked for support for the realization of a "unified Korean Peninsula," and issued a strong warning message against North Korea's successive provocations.

Another achievement is that he held his first summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who took office on the 1st, and agreed to continue the purpose of shuttle diplomacy and continue to develop Korea-Japan relations.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President (last 10th): Following the former Prime Minister Kishida, I hope that the Prime Minister and I will continue to promote the development of Korea-Japan relations through active and close communication, including shuttle diplomacy]

Now, attention is naturally turning to a pile of domestic issues.

In particular, the fact that the opposition party in the National Assembly is focusing on the controversy over Kim Gun-hee, including the "suspicious intervention in the nomination" surrounding Myung Tae-kyun, is a big burden for President Yoon.

As a result, Kim's issue is expected to be mainly discussed in a solo meeting with representative Han Dong-hoon of the People's Power, which will take place after the re- and by-elections on the 16th.

A senior presidential official explained that it will be a place to discuss various issues such as the parliamentary audit, political issues, and the increase of medical schools.

However, as both the issue of Kim and the increase in medical school are sensitive topics that have been cited as the cause of the Yoon-Han conflict, whether the two overcome the conflict and gather their will for a single team is expected to be the key to resolving the tight political situation.
