Former U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has accused Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris of being "mental" as she complained about not paying enough campaign money to her backers, according to reports.

The New York Times reported, citing unnamed sources, that former President Trump criticized Vice President Harris at a dinner with sponsors at Trump Tower in New York on the 29th of last month.

The meeting at the time was attended by big Republican backers including hedge fund mogul Paul Singer, billionaire investor Warren Stevenson, Elizabeth Divos, who served as Trump's first education secretary, and her husband Dick, billionaire Joe Ricketts and son Todd.

Former President Trump said his supporters have a lot to thank him for, boasting that he has reduced a lot of taxes for dinner attendees, and that he should sponsor more.

Former President Trump also said that even though he did a lot of work for Israel during his tenure, he still needs to examine the heads of Jewish people who support Vice President Harris.

The New York Times said it was dissatisfied with former President Trump's push, far from thanking his supporters, because he had less campaign funds than Vice President Harris at the end of the presidential election and had to keep busy raising more money.

Vice President Harris raised $1 billion in less than three months after running for president, more than former President Trump collected in a year.

Former President Trump visited Texas three days after dinner to attend a fundraiser, and Texas is a strong Republican area, so there is no need to spend time unless it is a campaign fundraising.

On the same day, Vice President Harris visited Georgia, where the presidential election could be won or lost, and spoke about the hurricane-throwing relief effort.

Former President Trump plans to host a dinner with sponsors who pay $92,600 (about 1.25 billion won) or raise money at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on the 16th.
