One out of three middle school students scored less than 60 points in math subjects.

As a result of analyzing the results of academic achievement by subject in the first semester of 3,277 middle schools nationwide, 35.2% of students received the lowest grade with less than 60 points in math grades.

Among the five major subjects, mathematics had the highest percentage of less than 60 points, followed by English with 29.6%, science with 29.3%, society with 21.9%, and Korean with 18%.

In particular, 374 schools accounted for more than 50% of students who received less than 60 points in math, 11.4% of all schools.

In terms of the lowest grade ratio and average score distribution, mathematics subjects are analyzed as the most difficult subjects for middle school students and the most frequently give up.

Jongno Academy explained that the importance of mathematics and science can be further increased in school grades because high school grades will change from a nine-grade system to a five-grade system from 2025 when middle school seniors go to high school.
