Taiwan "China threatens economy in violation of WTO norms"

Taiwanese authorities also protested after President Lei Ching-deh's speech on the foundation day of the country's founding anniversary, when China said it would retaliate for trade.

Taiwan's mainland China body, the Continental Commission, has criticized China for using a series of economic and trade conditions as a political weapon to threaten it to "subjugate."

The Economic and Trade Negotiation Office also pointed out that China has already severely violated the spirit and related norms of the WTO by continuing irrational "economic intimidation" measures.

Earlier, China's Ministry of Commerce said, "We are studying additional measures based on the results of Taiwan's trade barrier investigation," hinting at retaliatory measures after President Lai's speech on the 10th, which virtually emphasized two China.
