Egypt injures 20 people, including passengers, in train crash

At least 20 people were injured when a locomotive collided with a passenger train in southern Egypt.

Egypt's railway authorities said a locomotive collided with the tail of a passenger train bound for Cairo in the province of Minya, 270 kilometers south of Cairo, on the 13th local time.Two coaches fell into a nearby waterway and at least 20 people, including passengers, were injured and taken to a hospital in the

accident.

Train crashes and derailments are often occurring in Egypt, which is plagued by an aging rail system.

Earlier last month, two passenger trains collided in the Nile Delta city, killing three people.
