Daegu City will expand the "cashless city bus," which has been piloting since July, to 583 on 40 routes, which is 37% of all city buses.

As a result of the pilot operation of 97 city buses since July, the number of passengers without transportation cards decreased from 1.4% to 0.17% and the total cash use rate was 1.1%.

Daegu City explained that the elderly also used city buses without much inconvenience due to the spread of the "integrated free transportation card for the elderly."

It also added that it can reduce the risk of accidents caused by the exchange of change and reduce the cost of managing cash income.

Passengers who do not have a transportation card can use the bus by receiving the fare payment guide on the bus and transferring the account or issuing a mobile transportation card with the QR code attached to the bus stop.
