The ruling party lawmakers renewed suspicions that Lee provided illegal preferential treatment to KONAI, a local currency management agency, when he was governor of Gyeonggi Province, claiming that it was the same method as the Daejang-dong allegation.
On the other hand, opposition lawmakers criticized Kim Gun-hee's alleged preferential treatment of Yangpyeong Expressway, saying they had never seen a change in the road route, a national project, because a relative of the president was involved.
There has also been a war of words between the ruling and opposition parties over the responsibility for the recent escalation of military tensions between the two Koreas.
The opposition party pointed out that North Korea's filth balloons are being made due to South Korea's continuous distribution of leaflets to the North, followed by the resumption of loudspeakers and retaliatory broadcasts against the South.
The ruling party refuted North Korea's responsibility, saying that the idea that the cause of the current inter-Korean relationship lies in sending leaflets to the North itself falls under the North's operation to provoke a conflict between the two Koreas.
