The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul said today that it received a complaint from the National Newspaper asking for an investigation into Lee's alleged illegal gambling and distributed it to the department in charge.
The police said they will look through the complaints and contact Mr. Lee, explaining that there is no fixed summon investigation schedule.
Earlier, Lee posted an apology on his SNS yesterday (14th), saying that he started illegal gambling on the Internet in 2020 and owed a large amount of money.
In his apology, Lee said, "I bow down and apologize for causing a social stir and hiding it," and said, "I will sincerely be investigated by the police and pay off my debt."
Lee reportedly borrowed 100 million won from BTS Jimin in 2022 and did not pay it back, and also borrowed money from comedian Lee Soo-geun and singer Ha Sung-woon.
