The Ministry of Education announced the results of the autonomous public high school contest for military children today.
Autonomous public high schools, which recruit military children, are newly created for military children who work in remote areas or frequently move to work places.
The Ministry of Education plans to provide 200 million won annually for five years and apply special cases for the curriculum, academic management, and teacher and student selection.
In addition to Yeongcheon High School, two schools, including Hwacheon High School in Gangwon Province and Poseung High School in Gyeonggi Province, were conditionally selected, but Hwacheon High School said it was not able to be selected because the site needs to be relocated, and Poseung High School is scheduled to open in 2028.
Yeongcheon High School, which was selected this time, will begin a trial operation in March next year.
