At the parliamentary audit of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, the ruling and opposition parties argued over the failure of Han Kang's works, which recently won the Nobel Prize for Literature, to be on the list of government-funded projects 10 years ago.

The Democratic Party claimed that Han Kang's works were excluded from the selection of the "Sejong Book" support project by the Korea Publishing Culture Industry Promotion Agency in 2014 due to biased views and political tendencies.

At the same time, author Han Kang was a victim of a Park Geun Hye government blacklist, urging government officials to reflect on themselves at the time.

On the other hand, the People's Power received a lot of support from Han Kang between 2013 and 2015, during the Park Geun Hye administration, and refuted that this was the driving force behind the Nobel Prize.

He also criticized Han Kang's acceptance of the Nobel Prize as something that the whole nation should celebrate, but it is not desirable to use ideological standards to make it an object of political strife.
