A 40-year-old man who killed his 11-month-old nephew was sentenced to 15 years in prison...Prosecutor's 'Appeal'

Prosecutors have filed an appeal against a 40-year-old man who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the first trial for throwing his 11-month-old nephew out of the window of the 24th floor of the apartment building.

The Daegu District Prosecutors' Office's Western Branch said it appealed to the 42-year-old A, who was charged with murder, as it judged that heavier punishment was needed.

The prosecution explained that A killed a victim who was not able to resist by planning, such as preparing a weapon in advance, and considered the fact that the bereaved families were severely shocked.

Mr. A was arrested and charged with killing his 11-month-old nephew by throwing him out of the window while going to his younger brother's house with his mother for Parents' Day in May.
