The Arab League (AL), composed of 22 Arab countries, strongly condemned Israel's airstrikes targeting the Navatye City Hall building in southern Lebanon on the 16th local time.

"Israeli airstrikes are indiscriminate attacks targeting civilians and key infrastructure," Ahmed Abulgate, the secretary general, said in a statement, calling them part of a "calculated attempt to recreate the brutal Gaza scenario in Lebanon.

"Crimes beyond imagination are being committed in Gaza," he said, warning, "If the international community lets this scenario repeat itself in Lebanon, it will be involved in crime."

"Israel's arrogance has reached an unprecedented level," he said. "Israel ignores even Europe's rational voices criticizing such indiscriminate and inhumane military operations."

Israeli airstrikes damaged the Navatye City Hall building in southern Lebanon, killing six people, including Mayor Ahmad Cahill, and killing at least 15 in the southern Kana region, according to local health officials.
