White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a briefing that President Biden will hold a summit with Prime Minister Olaf Scholz in Germany today (17th) local time.
The visit to Germany will discuss ways to support Ukraine, which is at war against Russia.
Prior to President Biden's visit to Germany, the United States announced an additional $425 million in military aid to help Ukraine build its missile defenses.
Jean-Pierre said Biden had a phone call with Scholz ahead of his trip to Germany to discuss the need for cooperation on geopolitical priorities, including Ukraine's defensive support against Russian aggression.
