According to a poll conducted by pollster Marist of 1,400 voters willing to vote nationwide, Harris had 52 percent and Trump had 47 percent approval ratings, respectively.
The survey's margin of error is ±3.9%p, with Harris leading by 5%, but it is still interpreted as a close race within the margin of error.
However, the gap widened last month compared with Harris and Trump's approval ratings of 50% to 48% respectively, which was 2%p apart.
Among nonpartisan voters, Trump was far ahead of Harris, who received 44 percent support at 54 percent.
For men, 54% supported Trump and 57% of women supported Harris, indicating a clear gender gap.
