Amid the popularity of "Veteran 2" starring Hwang Jung-min and Jung Hae-in, which was released during the Chuseok holiday, theater sales and the number of audiences increased by more than 50% last month from the same month last year.

The Korea Film Council said that overall theater sales rose 53.4% year-on-year to KRW 1001 billion last month, while the number of moviegoers rose 51.8% to 10.11 million.

Of these, the share of Korean films exceeded 80%, which is the highest for Korean films as of this year.

The Korea Film Council explained that it recorded the highest sales of Korean films of the year in September when "Veteran 2" was released because there was no masterpiece in August, which was considered the peak season for Korean films.
