Chung Geun-sik, the new superintendent of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, said on his first day at work that he will continue innovation education that has been going on for the past 10 years.

At the inauguration ceremony today (17th), superintendent Chung said, "Studying to get to a good university is not the essence of education," adding, "We will continue to achieve innovative education and overcome the limits."

He also explained that it is urgent to improve basic academic ability and that he will help students with poor learning and borderline intelligence by approving the construction of a learning diagnosis and healing center with the first approval.

Regarding the low voter turnout, superintendent Chung said he would communicate with the site once a week to raise citizens' interest, especially knowing the concerns of parents in the "Gangnam 3 districts" and not worrying.
