With strong rain clouds flowing in, 100mm of autumn rain has already poured into the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do.

Heavy rain and tsunami warnings are also being issued on the west coast of Gyeonggi-do, and heavy rain is expected to continue in the future.

Up to 120mm of rain was predicted in Gangwon-do, and we will connect reporters to find out more about it.

Reporter Jung Hyeyoon, please tell us the status of the rain.

[Reporter]
Yes, it rained around the west coast during the day due to the inflow of strong low pressure. As the rain clouds moved northeast, the heavy rain has now expanded from southern Gyeonggi Province and northern Chungcheong Province to Gangwon Province.

As a result, the heavy rain warning was also extended from southern Gyeonggi Province to Gangwon Province a little while ago.

In addition, storm surge warnings are being issued on the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do and the west coast of Gyeonggi-do due to rising water levels.

In addition, preliminary special warnings for wind and strong winds are in place for all seas and coasts.

Strong rain clouds are moving eastward, so it is feared that strong and heavy rain of more than 30mm per hour will be concentrated in Gangwon-do in the future.

In addition, strong rain is likely to continue overnight in northern Chungcheong Province and southern Gyeonggi Province, which are channels for strong rain clouds amid unstable atmosphere.

The west coast of Chungcheongnam-do, including Seosan, has already received more than 100mm of autumn rain today, and the Incheon area is also recording about 80mm of precipitation.

By tomorrow, the weekend, Chungcheong Province will receive up to 80mm more rain, and southern Gyeonggi Province will receive up to 60mm more rain.

In particular, the east coast of Gangwon Province and the mountains, where rain clouds have moved, are expected to receive up to 120mm of autumn heavy rain, so caution is needed.

The southern coast will receive more than 80mm of rain, and Seoul is expected to receive 5 to 40mm of rain in the future.

Along with the rain, there will be gusts of around 20m per second on the coast and inland, and the first snow is likely in the mountains of Gangwon Province, where the temperature is low.

I heard that the weather gets very cold after the rain stops.

[Reporter]
Yes, after the rain stops, the cold in the north is expected to drop sharply from daytime on the weekend.

In particular, temperatures will plunge below 10 degrees in the central interior overnight on the weekend,

It will be the coldest this fall, falling to 9 degrees in Seoul and 5 degrees in Paju and Cheorwon on Sunday morning.

In the mountains of Gangwon-do, the temperature drops close to zero degrees Celsius, and there are places where the rain or snow freezes over the weekend, making thin ice on the road.

Inland daytime temperatures such as Seoul will also stay below 20 degrees Celsius, making it chilly all day.

The chilly autumn weather will continue next week, with another round of rain expected across the country on Tuesday, starting with the southern part of the country on Monday.
