Kirillo Budanow, the head of Ukraine's Defense Ministry's intelligence bureau, told the U.S. military media "The War Zone" on the 17th local time.
Budanow explained that 11,000 North Korean infantry are being trained in the Russian Far East.
He also added that it is not clear where the rest of the troops will be deployed, saying that it is not possible to grasp the entire situation at this time.
Russia denies sending North Korean troops, but a Russian media outlet predicts that if North Korean troops come to fight, it will not be Ukrainian territory, but Kursk province, which is a "certain Russian territory."
