Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed that the trend of the 'metaverse' that breaks down the boundaries between virtual and reality would come as we transition to an untact and on-tact society.
But still, the 'metaverse' seems far from our daily lives.
Reporter Lim Neulsol visited an event to meet the present and future potential of the metaverse, which is at a second innovation crossroads in combination with artificial intelligence.

As such, various experiences are possible in the metaverse space, but as non-face-to-face services have decreased since the daily recovery, the metaverse has also moved away from interest.
[Lee Seung-hwan / Researcher of the National Assembly Future Research Institute: In order for the metaverse to reach out to the public, it must be a service that actually helps the public, and the government's support system will be very important]

Rapidly developing artificial intelligence and metaverse are combining to create new synergy.
As the world's first metaverse promotion law was implemented in August, the government also decided to foster the metaverse ecosystem through policy support such as technology development, talent training, and basic system establishment.
[Sang-Im Yoo / Minister of Science and ICT: The Virtual Convergence Industry Promotion Act was enacted earlier this year and is now in effect. We will actively support the development of the metaverse in various ways.][158 companies including Microsoft and Google Cloud will participate in this year's event, which was held under the theme of
