According to the data received by Park Yong-gap of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, from the Korea Expressway Corporation in January to September this year, 24.6 million unpaid high-pass tolls and 63.4 billion won in unpaid amounts.
The non-payment of high-pass tolls, which was 19.94 million in 2020, was 21.94 million in 2021, 58 billion won, 25.28 million in 2022, 65.6 billion won, 29.93 million last year, and 77.2 billion won in 2020.
Of the 121.71 million unpaid tolls over the past five years, about 90% have been received through notices and compulsory collection procedures, but 12.55 million cases and 33 billion won are still unpaid.
The largest number of habitual non-payers passed the toll booth without permission without paying tolls 1,908 times.
