Yesterday, Sunday, a storm surge warning was once issued for most of the west and south coasts as strong winds were added to the height of the sea.

There were no casualties, but there were a series of reports on YTN as seawater flooded all over the road.

Reporter Song Jae-in's report.

The parking lot in front of the coast of Sinan, Jeollanam-do has turned into a sea of water.

Sea water filled so deep that it is difficult to tell where the road is from,
Following Jeollanam-do
, the situation on the coast of Chungnam, where a special storm surge warning was issued, was no different.

[Kim Hee-jin / Local merchant: We blocked the entrance of the store from getting water in. Still, there was a lot of water coming in.]

There was even a commotion in which citizens who visited the Taean area festival venue rushed to evacuate.

Some of the roads by the Seoul metropolitan area, where the special report was maintained until late afternoon, were once restricted from traffic.

Cars were stuck for about an hour as overflowing seawater pushed construction materials down the middle of the road.

[Hwaseong City Corporation official: There was too much water and there were too many waves, so the cable that was under construction was washed away....]

The storm surge warning was issued for most of the west and south coast areas, not just the impact of the rising height of the sea water.

[Moon Chan-hyuk / Meteorological Department forecaster: (In addition to the effect of the control season) The storm surge warning was announced due to the increased height of seawater during the high tide period.]

Fortunately, there were no casualties, but about 10 reports of flooding were received on the coasts across the country, starting with Jeollanam-do to Jeonbuk, Chungnam, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do.
