In this special exhibition, literature works by period, such as Hong Gil-dongjeon, Kim Man-joong's Goonmong, and works by poets Lee Sang and Yoon Dong-ju, will be introduced, and a special section of Han Kang, the winner of this year's Nobel Prize for Literature, will be set up.
Sun Seung-hye, director of the Korean Cultural Center in the U.K., said, "It is an exhibition that connects Korea's best-selling and most beloved literary works to the singularity of art, and we want to shed light on the special meaning of the Korea-U.K. cultural connection through the Han River Special Corner."
During the special exhibition, the Cultural Center will invite Korean literature experts from the UK to examine the world of Han Kang's works.
It also plans to run a book club for the next generation of Korean literature translators and researchers in connection with universities that teach Korean language and Korean literature in the UK.
The Cultural Center has been hosting the "Korea Day" festival in major British cities, focusing on universities with Korean language classes or Korean studies majors, and it has also decided to promote Korean literature events at the festival from next year.
