Police have issued an investigation into a case in which a security guard was killed by an iron school gate at a high school in Cheongju, saying that poor facility management was the cause.

In addition, the Chungbuk National Police Agency handed over four people, including the principal of the school in which the accident occurred, to the prosecution without detention on charges of professional negligence.

They were charged with violating the Ministry of Education's guidelines for conducting safety inspections of facilities at the school gate once a month and not supervising the management.

It has been confirmed that the school gate has not been repaired or inspected since it was established with the opening of the school in 1999.
