Rep. People's Power of Seongnam City Council for Children's School Violence Abandoned

A member of the Seongnam City Council in Gyeonggi Province, who recently apologized for his child's involvement as a perpetrator of school violence, has left the party.

According to the People's Power Gyeonggi Provincial Party and Seongnam City Council, lawmaker A submitted a defection to the Gyeonggi Provincial Party this morning (21st) and was accepted.

Representative A has recently been asked to make a sincere apology and express a responsible course of action from local political circles as it became known that his child was involved in school violence.

Representative A distributed an apology on the 17th and apologized, saying, "I'm responsible for not being able to teach properly as a parent," adding, "I apologize to the students and families who were affected and to the citizens."

With lawmaker A's defection, the distribution of political parties among Seongnam City Council members has been reorganized into 17 people's power, 14 from the Democratic Party of Korea, and 3 independents.

However, members of the Seongnam City Council's Democratic Council held a press conference in the city council seminar room and urged A to resign voluntarily, saying, "There are calls for voluntary resignation of the lawmaker, mainly from local political prices and communities."

According to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education and the Seongnam City Council, four students committed violence against student B from April to June this year by mixing snacks and sand in the park and weighing themselves down for performing game penalties.

The education authorities recently held a school violence review committee after investigating and confirming school violence, apologizing in writing to two of the students and replacing the class.One person with less than

made a written apology, four hours of service at school, and the other person made a written apology.

The parents of the victim, who attended the School Violence Countermeasures Review Committee, also requested a class change, so the victim was also replaced.
