The Russian Embassy in South Korea said on social media that Russian Ambassador to South Korea Georgi Ginoviev was invited to the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and met with Kim Hong-kyun, the first vice foreign minister, to convey the position that cooperation between North Korea and Russia is not aimed at South Korea.
He added that he emphasized that cooperation between Russia and North Korea is taking place within the framework of international law and is not contrary to South Korea's security interests.
At the same time, it was reported that South Korea and Russia have conflicting positions on the cause of rising tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
Ambassador Zinoviev told Vice Minister Kim Hong-kyun that he listened carefully to our government's position and expressed his intention to report accurately to his home country.
