The Suwon District Court held its first trial preparation date at 3 p.m. today (21st) for Aricel officials, including CEO Park, who was arrested and charged with violating the Serious Disaster Punishment Act.Representative
Park's lawyer put his opinion on the charges on hold, saying he has yet to see the records because he said it is possible to record evidence from October 30 due to circumstances in the prosecution's reading room.
The court pointed out that it is not common sense for the situation to take about a month to start a reading and copying, and the prosecution said it will cooperate to ensure that the reading and copying are processed quickly.
Representative Park and General Manager Park Joong-eon did not appear in court because there was no obligation for the defendant to attend the trial preparation period.
The court decided to hold another trial preparation date on the 25th of next month to confirm the defendant's opinion on the facts and evidence.
After the trial, the bereaved family held a press conference and said the trial ended without any substantive discussion and urged the trial to proceed quickly so that it could be held accountable.
