The Fair Trade Commission has launched an investigation into allegations of unfair practices by Red Hat Korea, a public software company.

Earlier this month, the FTC sent an investigator to Red Hat Korea headquarters in Seoul to conduct an on-site investigation.

Red Hat Korea is reportedly suspected of abusing its market dominance to damage rival software companies and sell its virtualization software.

An FTC official said, "We cannot confirm the matter under investigation," but added, "We will respond sternly if any violations of the law are confirmed."
