An amendment to the law that will ensure that young people who cheat their age are not harmed by good businesses will be promulgated tomorrow, the government said.

The related laws include regulations that allow 24-hour jjimjilbang, PC room, and karaoke operators to request the presentation of ID to check whether they are teenagers, and restrict their use if they do not cooperate.

In addition, if a teenager uses a forged or stolen ID card, the grounds for exemption from administrative measures, including suspension of business, have been established if it is recognized that he or she has not been identified as a teenager due to assault or intimidation.

The requirements for presenting identification cards will be applied directly from tomorrow, and the exemption from administrative disposition will take effect six months later.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Legislation explained that these contents were newly established in five laws, including the Public Health Management Act, the Game Industry Promotion Act, and the Performance Act.
