The filth balloon sent by North Korea temporarily suspended runway operations 20 times at both Incheon and Gimpo airports, and 172 aircraft were disrupted.

According to the data submitted by Incheon International Airport Corporation and Korea Airport Corporation to Kwon Young-jin of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, Incheon International Airport has been temporarily suspended 17 times in five days since June 1, and Gimpo International Airport has been temporarily suspended due to filth balloons three times a day on July 24.

As a result, a total of 150 aircraft, including waiting for takeoff and return, were disrupted at Incheon International Airport, and Kimpo International Airport also suffered damage from delays in taking off and landing 22 aircraft.

In particular, the Korea Airports Corporation failed to track and manage filth balloon drops in advance, and Gimpo Airport staff found filth balloon drops late while inspecting the runway.
