The Federal Aviation Administration says it has finalized comprehensive training and pilot qualification regulations for the commercial operation of AirTaxi.
Some airlines have addressed major hurdles, with commercial passenger transport planned to begin next year, Reuters said.
As a result, shares of Air Taxi CEO Joby Aviation and Archer Aviation rose more than 10% and 6%, respectively.
Airlines and others are seeking to develop a transportation service that overcomes traffic jams using battery-powered aircraft that can transport travelers to airports or make vertical takeoffs and landings for short city trips.
