Lee visited the Kanto Massacre documentary film Photo Exhibition held at the National Assembly and said, "We have to overcome the big wall of veto and non-cooperation of the ruling party, but we will do what the Democratic Party can do."
He added that the Kanto genocide, which has passed 101 years, may feel like a fading past, but it seems to be a part of life even now, adding that he will do his best to prevent the Korean people from dying unfairly again.
The Kanto genocide was a massacre committed against local Koreans during the great earthquake in the Kanto region of Japan in September 1923, during the Japanese colonial period.
