An appeals court ruled that the presidential secretary's office should disclose the entire list and positions of public officials.

The Seoul High Court ruled that some of the plaintiffs won the lawsuit filed by the civic group "Information Disclosure Center for a Transparent Society" against the presidential chief of staff to cancel the refusal to disclose information.

Earlier in June 2022, a civic group filed for information disclosure, saying the allegations of preferential hiring should be resolved after it was revealed that the children of business acquaintances of the Yoon Suk Yeol president and his wife were working in the presidential office.

In response, the secretary's office disclosed only part of the list of public officials above the secretary level that has already been disclosed, saying, "If all workers are known, there is a risk of lobbying or solicitation."

Earlier, the first trial also ruled that who is a public official working in the secretariat is a matter of public interest that needs to be monitored and controlled, and that it should be disclosed for the people's right to know.
