The BRCIS summit of emerging economies in Kazan, Russia, with 36 countries participating, adopted the "Kazan Declaration."

Emphasizing "multipolarism," the joint declaration supports plans to create new investment platforms and grain exchanges between BRICS countries, and strengthens cooperation in the financial sector.

However, unlike Russia's criticism of the weaponization of the U.S. dollar and its insistence on finding alternatives, the declaration did not mention anything related to the BRICS single currency.

Russia, which has been forced out of the International Interbank Telecommunications Association due to Western economic sanctions since the war in Ukraine, wants a new system away from the Western-led financial settlement system.

At the same time, the Kazan Declaration noted the mediation and peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

It also calls for the prevention of nuclear proliferation and the reduction of arms for world peace, stability and security.
