The Gyeonggi Global Daejeon Transformation Forum, which Gyeonggi Province will hold for the first time this year, has kicked off with a two-day schedule at KINTEX in Goyang.

Like the Davos Forum, the forum covers global agendas with different themes every year, and this year's themes are artificial intelligence, AI, and humanomics.

Reporter Choi Myung-shin reports.

What opportunities can AI and humanomics offer for the future of humanity?

A large number of world-class scholars, representatives of international organizations, and businessmen visited Gyeonggi-do to find a balance between future society and people-centered economic policies led by AI technology.

[Maria Castillo Fernandez / EU Ambassador to Korea: Thank you very much to Gyeonggi Province for organizing this event on AI and humanomics.]

The forum consisted of four sessions: opening talks, main sessions including the Leaders Roundtable, and opportunities, climate, care, and peace economy.

In particular, Stuart Russell, a world-renowned master of AI, and Bart Wilson, a professor at UC Berkeley, the founder of the Hummernomics concept, drew attention as keynote speakers.Governor of Gyeonggi-do Province Kim Dong-yeon led the discussion in the opening dialogue of

'AI Era, Why Humanomics?''

[Kim Dong-yeon / Governor of Gyeonggi Province] This is such a time of great transformation. Advances in technology, including AI, technological change, rapidly changing international politics, and changes in the global economic order are creating this global transformation.

The forum is said to contain Gyeonggi Province's philosophy to overcome inequality and polarization.

On the second day, the Leaders Roundtable will discuss global solidarity and cooperation measures for humanomics in the AI era, and adopt a declaration.

The Gyeonggi Global Transformation Forum' will cover global agendas that require a major shift in ideas every year, just like the Davos Forum.
