According to local media, a passenger train departing from Trondheim, Norway, at around 12:40 p.m. local time and heading to the northern coastal city of Bodo derailed.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Center in northern Norway said in a social media post that there were about 50 to 70 people on the train at the time of the accident.
Eyewitness testimony suggests the accident occurred when the train crashed into a rock near the track, the foreign press added.
