Seongnam City Sports Council for the Disabled and a private organization called 'Leave the Earth a Vacation' held a ceremony for the 'Himalayan Disabled Thanks Happiness Expedition' at Seongnam City Hall.
The expedition team consisted of 12 people, including Captain Park Jung-heon and intellectually developmentally disabled people aged 19 and 24 living in Seongnam, mountain experts, and safety personnel.
They will leave for Nepal on the 4th of next month and challenge to climb the mountain for 14 nights and 16 days until the 19th.
For this expedition, the expedition has been conducting physical and mountain training twice a month in Jirisan, Palbongsan, and Namhansanseong areas for a year since September last year.
Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin said, "Please overcome the human limitation of disability and succeed in climbing to deliver a message of hope."
