U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris has tried to differentiate herself from billionaire Republican former President Donald Trump, emphasizing that she is from the middle class.

"I'm from the middle class and I'll never forget my background," Harris said at a campaign rally in Georgia's Decalb County, a southern rival state, on Monday local time. "I'm going to lower everything from health care to food to housing."

In Trump's case, he then said he would provide large tax cuts to billionaires and big businesses, as he did last time, stressing that "I would provide tax cuts to 100 million middle-class Americans."

In particular, "Trump is trying to repeal the health insurance reform law we call 'Obama Care'," he said, promising to lower health care costs because he thinks health care is everyone's right, not everyone's.

Harris said the election is a battle for the future, a fight for freedom, a fight for fundamental freedom that women make their own decisions about their bodies and the government doesn't tell them what to do. "I will sign the law proudly as president of the United States if Congress passes a bill that restores women's reproductive rights."

As for former President Trump, he said, "Over the past eight years, Trump has become more confused and unstable, more angry. "We see it every day," he said repeatedly, "and let me be clear, anyone who claims to destroy the Constitution of the United States should never be president of the United States again."

Former President Barack Obama also joined the campaign, and Obama introduced Vice President Harris, saying, "My friend and the next president of the United States."

"He is a 78-year-old billionaire who constantly complains about his problems," former President Obama said in a speech. "It's interesting that he's acting so crazy that it's become so common that people don't take it seriously anymore."

Trump is only interested in pride, money, status, and his way of thinking, he said. "Vice President Harris will not focus on his problems, his pride, his money, he will focus on you."
