The memorial service was attended by Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, former director of the Lium Museum Hong Ra-hee, Hotel Shilla President Lee Boo-jin, and Samsung C&T President Lee Seo-hyun.
The bereaved family stayed in Seonyeong for about 40 minutes to honor the achievements and will of the deceased.
Prior to this, about 50 incumbent Samsung presidents, including Chung Hyun-ho, Han Jong-hee, and Jeon Young-hyun, also paid tribute to the deceased.
After the memorial service, Chairman Lee and the presidents had a luncheon at the Creative Center at the Samsung Human Resources Development Institute in Yongin.
Amid assessments that Samsung is facing a crisis due to poor performance and weak competitiveness, attention is focusing on what kind of countermeasures Chairman Lee may have ordered from the presidents.
Lee Kun-hee, former president of the party, died on October 25, 2020, at the age of 78 after collapsing from myocardial infarction at his home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in May 2014.
