The K-pop craze, which is blowing relentlessly around the world, can also be seen as a token that imprinted the competitiveness of our music on the world.

There is good news that our traditional music is also expanding its horizons with this craze.

Reporter Kim Ki-sung delivers the clear Gayageum melody that resonates in Thailand, the Buddhist country.

The concert hall is filled with the soft reverberation of our instrument Gayageum.

This is the performance site of a traditional music club specially invited to an event commemorating the birthday of the king of Thailand.

In the heart-wrenching performance on a wide stage, the members unwittingly rip off the gayageum.

Cheongheungdongdang, a traditional Korean music club, was formed on the occasion of the Gayageum lecture at the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand.

The club, which is composed of about 30 Korean compatriots and Thai youth, has already celebrated its fourth anniversary.

Thai young people who are interested in Korean culture have already fallen in love with the charm of our musical instrument Gayageum.

[Wadi / Hantae Traditional Music Club Cheongheungdongdang Member: I am learning Korean culture, music, dance, and instruments. I think Korean culture is interesting and very interesting.]

[Sarawan Suwanakom / Hantae Traditional Music Club Cheongheungdongdang Member: Arirang is my favorite song when I learn Gayageum. This is because Arirang represents the identity of Koreans. Mr. Kim Hyun-ji (CEO of Cheongheungdongdang) teaches not only the basics of singing, but also the skills to play songs more beautifully.]

The members who have led the organization with their affection for our music have a dream to spread our music and culture throughout Thailand.

[Kim Hyun-ji / CEO of Hantae Traditional Music Club Cheongheungdong Party: We currently have about 10 executives working together, and whenever we have an event or workshop, we have always donated our talents and come so far. I want to promote a lot of Korean culture in the future, but for that, I think it would be nice to fill the financial part.]

The club's name is Cheongheungdungdang, which means the first four strings among the old notes expressing the sound of Gayageum.

It is expected to be active as a cultural diplomatic mission to promote our cheerful and beautiful traditional music to the world.
