The three security heads of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan met in Washington, D.C., to express concerns about North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia.

John Kirby, the White House National Security Council's communications adviser, told a briefing that the three-nation security chief expressed grave concerns about the North Korean military's deployment to Russia and its potential use against Ukraine on the battlefield.

Kirby says the deployment of North Korean troops is the latest in a series of signs of deepening military cooperation between North Korea and Russia, including the transfer of weapons and ballistic missiles.

He also pointed out that military cooperation between North Korea and Russia constitutes a direct violation of UN Security Council resolutions.

The three-nation security chief called for an end to North Russia's actions, saying they spread the security impact of Russia's brutal and illegal war beyond Europe to the Indo-Pacific.
