Shin met with Korean correspondents at the Embassy of the U.S. in Washington, DC, and held bilateral consultations with National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
Shin also said at a meeting of the security chiefs of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan that they agreed that the dispatch of North Korean troops is a clear violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions and a serious impediment to international security.
Accordingly, the three countries will respond firmly to the international community's military cooperation with North Korea and Russia and have decided to take necessary measures under close cooperation as the situation unfolds in the future.
He also shared information on the dispatch of North Korean troops by the three countries, South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, and confirmed that there was no disagreement between the three countries in evaluating the current situation.
