"We have been judged very strictly by the slush fund scandal," Ishiba told TV Asahi. "We must do our best to realize the policies we put forward in the future."
In an interview with TV Tokyo, he only said, "There are many ways" to push for an expansion of the coalition with the Japan Restoration Association or the National Democratic Party if the ruling party loses its majority of seats.
In another broadcast, when asked about his future, he said, "It's still being counted," and "I don't think we should talk about that at all."
