NATO said in a statement that a high-level South Korean delegation will attend the North Atlantic Council to brief the North Korean military on its deployment to Russia.
In addition, ambassadors from four Indo-Pacific partners, including Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, were also invited to the meeting.
The North Atlantic Council is the highest decision-making body attended by ambassadors from 32 NATO member states.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutter plans to hold a brief press conference after hearing briefings from the South Korean delegation.
The South Korean government delegation was led by Hong Jang-won, the first deputy chief of the National Intelligence Service, Park Jin-young, the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Yoo Jeong-hyun, ambassador to Belgium.
The delegation is likely to discuss the trend and countermeasures of sending North Korean troops to NATO, as well as South Korea's dispatch of local monitoring teams and support for Ukrainian troops.
