More than 130,000 people participated in the Future Innovation Technology Fair, "FIX 2024," which was held for the first time this year, far exceeding the expected number of people.

The fairs, which were held individually in the fields of automobiles, ICT, and robots, were combined to lay the groundwork for industrial exchange suitable for the era of technology convergence.

Reporter Lee Yun-jae reports.

The large auditorium was filled with people.

Lee Sang-yeop, vice president of Hyundai Motor, has stepped up from the podium.

"Our vision is 'Progress for Humanity." It's the advancement of human society through technology."

This is a lecture held at FIX 2024, the Future Innovation Technology Fair.

People flocked to lectures held by 80 technology experts from 13 countries, including Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, Naver, and Nvidia.

The exhibition hall, where cars dance and robots play soccer, has no time to step on.

133,000 people visited in four days, and export consultations worth 2.7 trillion won were conducted.

[Kim Kyu-sik/Exco Business Director: We saw the maximum number of about 100,000 people. In fact, when I counted it, about 130,000 people visited it.

We consulted about 1,600 cases and raised them to a field consultation performance of about $2 billion.]

Above all, it received positive reviews for bringing together fairs held separately in different industries such as automobiles, ICT, and robots to lay the groundwork for technology convergence and network construction between industries.

Based on these achievements, Daegu City plans to grow it like CES, the representative home appliance fair in the United States.

[Hong Joon Pyo / Daegu Metropolitan City Mayor: High-tech future industries have lost boundaries between industries and are converging on innovative technologies]. We look forward to establishing ourselves as a global new technology sharing platform.]

However, the participation of schools and companies that lack technology, and the fact that the exhibition was held so that it could be seen only with the eyes, are pointed out as areas to be improved.

Attention is focusing on whether FIX, held for the first time this year, will be able to establish itself as a representative industrial technology fair in Korea.
