The national AI research base at the Seoul AI hub in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, will serve as a focal point for global AI leaders and industry-academic research ecosystems, with 94.6 billion won, including 44 billion won in state funds, to be invested by 2028.
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, who attended the opening ceremony, said, "As we cannot be confident that we are a complete leader in AI, we need to create a future through sufficient investment," adding, "We will fully support the Seoul Metropolitan Government in the future."
