The presidents of 10 national universities nationwide have issued a proposal to leave medical school students on leave to the university's autonomy.

The National Council of Presidents of National Universities has asked the government to allow students to approve leave-of-school institutions in accordance with university conditions, saying that medical schools should be normalized no later than next year.

If the current legislative confrontation and academic disruptions in medical schools continue, there are concerns about the sustainability of the medical personnel training system that will be responsible for public health, and medical students are also expected to suffer significant damage.

Therefore, in order for students to return to school in 2025 and normalize medical school management, the government must share the recognition that self-approving leave of absence by university is a prerequisite for student return.

At the same time, the council included in its proposal that the government and universities would work together to normalize the operation of medical schools and that the university would run a special program for students on leave for the 24th grade.
