Grizzly bear is killed after being hit by a car in Yellowstone National Park.

Widely known as '399' because of the identification tag attached by wildlife researchers, the grizzly bear was the most well-known popular bear in the world.A 28-year-old female named

, she was the oldest female Grizzly bear in Yellowstone, with a total of 18 cubs to raise.

The national park explained that a vehicle passing through Bear No. 399 that came out of Grand Teton National Park on the 22nd local time appeared to have hit it.

The National Park Service (NPS) added that the whereabouts of the one-year-old cub, who was with the mother bear at the time of the accident, have yet to be confirmed.
