The 2nd anniversary of "Itaewon disaster"...all sorts of memorial events in Seoul

Celebrating the second anniversary of the Itaewon disaster, memorial events will be held throughout downtown Seoul, including the scene of the disaster.

Today (29th) at 11 a.m., the 2nd anniversary of the Itaewon disaster will be commemorated at the National Assembly Hall.

The bereaved families and survivors of the disaster participate and speak, and National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik and the leaders of both the ruling and opposition parties will attend.

At 6:34 p.m., when the 112 report was first received on the day of the disaster, an action reading session will begin at the scene of the disaster in front of Exit 1 of Itaewon Station to read oral records containing the stories of bereaved families and survivors.

At 7 p.m., a cultural festival will be held at the nearby Noksapyeong Station Square to read messages of remembrance from citizens and their bereaved families.
